Anhidrosis/Electrolytes

Anhidrosis is defined as a decreased ability to sweat in response to increased body temperature. Failure to sweat has been described in both horses and man and it manifests primarily in to hot, humid climates.

A "non-sweater" is horse that is suffering from a condition known as anhidrosis in which there is an absence of an adequate amount of sweat. This condition is frequently performance limiting and can put a horse at risk for hyperthermia, or even a heat stroke.
